After you've set up your CAD builder, here's how to use and maintain it
Finding the output builder application
Output builder is an application that is designed to always be running in the background, waiting for a CAD build request from the cloud. By default it is set to start on startup of the windows machine, and it lives in the windows system tray.
Logging out of the output builder
If you do not see it in the tray, click the ^ caret symbol next to the system tray.
To view the Output Builder window, click the output builder icon in the tray.
The output builder window appears.
The output builder window is organized into the following tabs:
Tab | Description |
---|---|
Logs | The logs tab shows builds that have recently been completed on this machine, and provides links to the result files of the build as well as any build logs. At the bottom of the screen output builder tells you it's current status, providing real time updates of what it's currently working on with a build.
|
Settings | The settings tab contains options to control the overall behavior of output builder. Note that by default, all output builders utilize the same shared set of Builder Settings from the cloud. This tab is only used to override those shared settings for this output builder only. To override the settings, set 'Use local settings' to true. |
About | The About tab contains the version of Output Builder you have installed and copyright information. It also includes a list of any installed CAD Extensions. |
To log out of the output builder, click the "logout" button next to the minimize button at the top right of the output builder. Note that logging out of the Output Builder will prevent this workstation from answering any build requests in the queue it serves. Those build requsts will remain in the queue until this builder (or some other builder assigned to the same queue) is online.
Updating the output builder
When new versions of Epicor CPQ are released, sometimes the output builder needs to be updated. The output builder automatically updates itself when it is running and is logged in. You can see the version number in the output builder window.
