Outputs in Epicor CPQ work by starting with an output template file, which will be manipulated by your rules to create the final output document your customer sees. The list of output templates is a managed repository in the cloud to store your output template files, including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and CAD files.
The Output Builder, which is used to generate CAD outputs on machines in your company network, automatically synchronizes its assets with your template folder. By storing your output templates here in this folder online, you don't need to worry about having to update these files on any specific builder machine. It happens automatically.
Adding Files to the Template folder
Files can be uploaded to the template folder directly on the templates page by pressing the upload button, or they can be uploaded using the Sync command in the Capture Tool.
Manage the files in this folder using the same buttons as found in the Media folder.
Use restraint when naming.
The filename and filepath (folder structure) for each file must add up to fewer than 260 characters. The exact number depends on the name of your configurator as well. Therefore, keep the names of your subfolders short, without spaces or special characters, and keep the files you upload to a similar restrained name. If you have problems with a template, first try simplifying the filename, configurator name, or shortening the folder structure holding the file.
