External IDs are how a Epicor CPQ Output Field is mapped to a specific entity or location in an output template. For other output types, you do not need to worry about external IDs. However, when creating Excel outputs external IDs can streamline your setup and open the door to more powerful features.
Some administrators use the Capture Tool to map their Excel output fields visually. However, you can easily perform map Excel fields without the capture tool. External IDs for Excel outputs utilize the cell address, and follow the following format:
$column$row@sheet
- column is the alphabetic column name of the cell
- row is the row number of the cell
