Understanding Data Integration (BI/ETL)

Moving data from one system to another is such a common need, the industry has its own acronyms for it: "BI" for business integration, or "ETL" for extract, transform, load.  Regardless of what you call data integration, tools are available to move your data into and out of Epicor CPQ.  Since your Epicor CPQ database is stored as a Microsoft Azure SQL Database, just about every ETL tool can connect to it easily.  


What ETL tool should you use?

  • You might already be using one.
    If your company already uses an ETL tool – such as one of those listed below – use that existing investment to connect to your data in Epicor CPQ.  Ask your internal IT department if an ETL tool has already been implemented, and if you can join the other parts of your company using it. 

  • Many tools are available.
    If you don't have an ETL tool already, don't worry. Many of these ETL tools are cloud-based like Epicor CPQ, which means you don't have to worry about infrastructure. Some options include
