If your org has the optional channels feature activated, then a new type of role may appear in the roles list. For each channel you define, a matching role named after the channel is automatically created. The [Channel] User Role grants users access that channel.
For example, creating two channels called "Distribuco" and "Resella" results in two new roles appearing in the roles list, as shown below. Note that these roles do not have a checkbox to the left of their names: because they are automatically created, they cannot be edited or removed. To delete a channel role, delete the channel itself.
As a company administrator, you can...
- Grant user access to the channel
by editing any user and adding this role their list of roles. That user will be able to view only the products offered by the channel, create configurations, submit them, and see only their own quotes. All through the channel's branding. - Grant administrative access to the channel
by editing any user and adding both the channel role as well as the "Channel Administrator" role. That user will have the rights above, as well as rights to manage all users within that channel. In this way, you can delegate the day-to-day administration of users in a particular channel to one or more members of that channel.
One channel per user
Any user can be a member of no channels, or one channel. But no more than one channel. Listing multiple channel roles under one user is not supported.
