Understanding Interactions
The Epicor CPQ platform tracks "interactions" (views of a configurator) in each of your dev, test, and prod sites two ways:
Total Interactions
This statistic is useful for webmasters or other technical people to watch the total, raw technical traffic on your site. Any action that requires viewing a configurator is logged in "total interactions," such as creating a new custom product or reviewing an old quote's custom product. Multiple interactions by the same user on the same configurator on the same day are logged separately, so you have a full detailed overview of all interactions.
Unique Interactions
This statistic is useful for sales, marketing, or other business people to watch the human-focused interactions on your site. Unlike total interactions, unique interactions happen only once per 24-hr period. In other words, multiple viewings by the same user of the same configurator on the same day are logged as one "unique interaction". In this way, this statistic filters out transactions which are not part of ordinary business.
Examples of Interactions
Scenario | Total Interactions | Unique Interactions |
---|---|---|
Power Shopper
1 user (Pat), |
10 | 2 |
Excited Customer
1 user (Steve), |
6 | 1 |
FAQs about the Dashboard
-
This help page describes a dashboard statistic, but I don't see it in my org.
Depending on your relationship with us, some data shown here may not be relevant and therefore won't appear on your dashboard.
-
I like the "interactions" statistics, but can I get more details?
The "interaction" general statistics are to help answer basic questions about overall activity in your Epicor CPQ environments. To gather more detailed statistics at a granular level customized to your specific needs, you can connect any web analytics program you like to Epicor CPQ. Simply insert a web bug into your configurator by placing it within an HTML element, or read this walkthrough to learn more about adding configurator events to your existing web page metrics. For example, your analytics platform can gather data such as...- The number of quotes submitted by week, instead of by month.
- How many times a user clicked a button, or changed a field.
-
How much time a user spent on each page of a certain configurator, or the abandon rate of a certain configurator.
-
I see an Epicor CPQ employee is listed as a user in one of my orgs. Am I paying for their license?
No. Any user in your org from the epicor.com domain is not charged. You may see these users from time to time as you work with us to build new features, or ask us for support.
-
When do the daily statistics reset?
Measurements reset at 0:00 UTC (midnight, London time). Depending on where you are globally, this means you may see some interactions performed late in the day appearing in the next day's statistics, or vice versa. We track up to 250K transactions per year, and inform you when you have reached that limit.

The dashboard reports I'm using more licenses than I bought. How is this possible?
You may see a message such as "You are using 54 of your 50 internal licenses." The licenses consumed are summed up across all environments for each unique user to the system, including those users unique to some environments. These are added to the total. For example, if "JDoe@foo.com" is a user in all three -dev, -test, and production environments, and "SUser@foo.com" is only in the -dev environment, that counts as 2 licenses consumed across all environments.
