Replace Component

A Replace Component output field allows a configurator to replace a component of a CAD assembly with a new one. The replacement component must be directly derived from the replaced component.

Depending on the CAD platform you use, some properties of this feature or the feature itself may not be available.

Properties

Property Datatype Description
Name text The name of the output field. Used for referring to this output field in snap rules.
Source object A reference to the new part or sub-assembly that will be inserted into the assembly. May be a Template, another output, or a nested configurator output
Nested Configurator Type object Specifies the configurator type when the Source object is of type 'Nested Configurator'
Nested Configurator Name text Specifies the configurator name when the Source object is of type 'Nested Configurator'
Source Output object Specifies the object to insert when the Source object is of type 'Output' or 'Nested Configurator'
File Path text Specifies the path to the file to insert when the Source object is of type 'Template'
Component ID To Replace text A reference to the part or sub-assembly in the CAD assembly to replace.
New Name text Sets the filename of the component.
Part Family Name text Sets the configuration of the component.
