Infrastructure Enhancements

Epicor is making a strategic move to upgrade our infrastructure to the state-of-the-art Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) across the organization which includes Epicor CPQ. As we transition to AKS, no action is required from you, and we do not anticipate our customers to notice any changes or disruptions.

What is Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)?

AKS is a managed Kubernetes container orchestration service offered by Microsoft Azure. It provides a platform that simplifies the deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications using Kubernetes, an industry-standard open-source container orchestration system.

Benefits of AKS:

  • Reliability: AKS offers a highly available, managed Kubernetes service that ensures the reliability and uptime of your applications. This means fewer disruptions and a more seamless experience for you.
  • Scalability: AKS allows us to easily scale our services to meet increased demand. As our customer base grows, we can effortlessly adapt to deliver the best experience for everyone.
  • Security: Azure's robust security features and AKS's integrated security capabilities will enhance the protection of your data and applications.
  • Performance: AKS optimizes performance, enabling faster response times and improved overall speed and efficiency.
  • Simplified Management: The management of containers and Kubernetes clusters is made easier, allowing us to focus on delivering value to you while Azure takes care of the operational complexities.

What to Expect:

As we transition to AKS, no action is required from you, and we do not anticipate our customers to notice any changes or disruptions. We want to ensure that the migration is as smooth and transparent as possible for you:

  • Minimal to No Disruption: We do not anticipate downtime, but it is possible some maintenance may be required and if so, we will communicate any scheduled downtime well in advance.
  • Timeframe: We will start migrating customers individually over the next few weeks and we expect to complete all migrations by mid-2024.
  • Backup Plan: We do not expect any issues with the move to AKS, but if the situation should arise, we are able to revert customers back to the previous infrastructure while we investigate and fix whatever issue presented itself.

We are excited about the possibilities that AKS brings to our services and are dedicated to continuing to provide you with top-notch experiences. We are committed to ensuring a seamless transition and improved services for our customers.
